A grand jury has handed up an indictment against a Manhattan man accused of killing six cats. Most of them were kittens.

The self-employed graphic designer methodically killed at least four of his then-girlfriend’s cats while the unsuspecting woman continued to adopt new ones over a four-month period, authorities said Friday.

The A.S.P.C.A. claims the man tortured the cats before killing them.

Officers arrested Sean Lynde Friday in the East Village.

Fox 5 News reported that the man was jealous of his girlfriend’s affection towards the cats.  He’s also accused of stalking the woman.

Lynde allegedly killed 15 year old Cleo after breaking her jaw, eye and smashing her head. 12 year old Zoe had her head smashed in. Kitten Willie had both her front legs broken.  Kitten Betty had head trauma.  Kitten Emo had her leg broken before she disapaeared.  Kitten Bone Fide arrived comatose and blind at a vet’s office.

Police say Lynde killed the cats last year when the couple lived together in Morningside Heights.
